The Symbiosis in the Schools project is all about:
Collaborative community science: students have the opportunity to collect data for ongoing scientific research at the University of Minnesota, while collaborating and communicating with researchers, other classrooms, and the public
Urban ecology and symbiotic relationships in city ecoscapes: topics include evolution and adaptation, symbiosis and nitrogen fixation, and connections to climate change and environmental justice, as students explore a symbiotic relationship
Hands-on scientific inquiry: students will ask and answer their own questions, design experiments, and
collect and analyze data
Powerful, relevant scientific communication: students will explore different methods for visualizing data and creatively and impactfully communicating research to others
