MaiLei Meyers is a third year student at the University of Minnesota earning degrees for Cinema and Media Culture and Journalism, focusing on Strategic Communications. After evaluating her academic preferences, MaiLei chose to pursue a path in corporate communications and social media content development. Over three years of retail experience with organizations like Kohl’s and The Walt Disney Company helped MaiLei develop essential time management and interpersonal skills.
She recently sought out fresh opportunities to achieve her professional goals. She was elected Professional Development Committee Co-Director for the UMN chapter of PRSSA, where she learns more about field-related events and employers in the Twin Cities. She will joined the Xcel Energy team as a Corporate Sponsorship and Outreach Intern for the summer and fall of 2018. In her spare time, she works on the Allied Integrated Marketing Street Team, facilitating advance film screenings and promoting studio marketing initiatives.
